B620 Inspections
It’s always nerve-wracking to pass a large tank being towed on the highway. Being the one towing those tanks can be just as stressful. One major source of relief can be found in knowing that those tanks have been fully inspected and passed their test with flying colors.
At TruckZone Tank Shop locations, we can take care of your tanks to the full extent required by CSA-B620 standards. The CSA-B620 standard sets out the requirements for the design, construction, certification, assembly, modification, repair, testing, inspection, periodic re-testing, maintenance, and marking of highway tanks and TC portable tanks for the transport of dangerous goods. The standard is used primarily for tanks and vessels that travel on roadways but may include those used on rail and marine. Every aspect of work done on these vessels needs to meet these standards. The Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Acts and Regulations apply the Standard B620 in full as well as what is contained in their acts and regulations.
In accordance with B620 standards, different vessels have varied inspection requirements. For example, a 406 Tank has slightly different testing requirements to a 406 Crude. Below is an excerpt of the testing period requirements.
A full listing of these requirements can be found as supplied by the Alberta Government in their Dangerous Goods Transport Tanks documentation.
When you bring your tanks into our shops, you can rest assured that our experienced staff’s top priority is following those standards in full detail. That way, your tanks, their contents, and, most importantly, you are as safe as possible while transporting dangerous goods.
Expanded TZ Tank Services
ABSA Certification
Truck Zone Lloydminster is a proud ABSA Certified facility for Transport Canada, providing the following tank repair & modification services: Semi Vac & Vac Trucks, TC 407, 412 ASME Tanks / Chemical / Acid ASME Tanks / Pressure Piping Hwy Tanks, LPG, NH3 Tanks & Piping!
Tank Cladding
Our Truck Zone locations in Lloydminster, Bonnyville, and Edmonton are now offering Tank Cladding Repair and Refurbishment services for Super B Tankers. This can include services from minor and major cladding dents, to more extensive insurance claims.
The cladding of your tank protects the insulation, helping to keep your tanks’ contents at a consistent temperature. This is crucial when it comes to transporting substances safely. Depending on what you’re hauling uneven temperatures can mean evaporation, leaks, or worse. That’s why we’re glad to be offering this service and helping to keep tanks on the road a little safer.
For our Lloydminster and Bonnyville shops this is an addition to our existing full-service Tank Facilities. For our Edmonton facility this is a unique addition as we do not currently have other Tank Services available in-shop.
